Medical Myth – Skin Cancer – SPF Values 1 – Penn State Cancer Institute

[Music] So this is not necessarily true. Most
important is get a sunblock that have dual protection for UVA and UVB. Remember
these numbers that you see on your sun blocks usually they tell only about the
UVB protection and it’s important if you have like between thirty and fifty,
you reapply every two hours. Sometimes having one that’s a hundred SPF but it
will reapply a very thin layer and stay all day long during the sun. You are not
as protected at someone that uses a thirty but keep it reapplying every one
and a half, two hours. So you have to manage this so it’s not necessarily
true that 100 is better than the thirty. [Music]
