Itchy Scalp After Washing Natural Hair

Itchy Scalp After Washing Natural Hair

So hi everyone welcome to Discovering
Natural I know I’m not in my regular setup but I wanted to address a question that
was asked on my Facebook group and my facebook group is called DiscoveringNatural group so if you are not a member of our Facebook group what are you
waiting for you should try to be a member because we do valuable videos
that can help you with your hair and with your hair growth and I just thought
I’ll just do this impromptu video. We do a live chat every Wednesdays on our
Facebook group it’s called Discovering natural group so you can join us there
to ask a question. So one of the questions that people were asking in the
group was why does their scalp itch every time after they wash their hair
because after you wash your hair your scalp is not supposed to itch. Should it? I
mean it shouldn’t be like all itchy and all crazy like oh my gosh
you know so I want to give some reasons why that could be happening reason
number one it could be that the product you are using in case you change your
product maybe is a new product you could be allergic to some of the ingredients in
that product. It could also be that when you washed your scalp thinking that you
wash your scalp really well you actually didn’t and it was actually time to
detoxify your scalp. So detoxifying your scalp would be like
using a clarifying shampoo even using a sulfate shampoo but following it up
with a deep conditioner just remove any debris leftover in your scalp it could
also be that you have a scalp conditions such as eczema and other things like
that for that you will have to talk to your dermatologist.
Another reason could be because you know some people co-wash a lot you know they
always constantly co-washing co-washing co-washing and instead of shampooing thy cowash. I have a video you can watch by clicking that button on why you should
own exclusively cowash your hair and co-washing for some people especially people that have done long term cowashing, it builds up on their scalp and they have
issues with their scalp so that could be a reason why that is happening so I
would say take a look at what you’re doing your routine and try and
incorporate shampoos once in a while to it okay so the last reason that I feel
that that could be happening is that maybe it could also be with what you are
using in your hair so for example there are some oils for example jamaican black
castor oil is known to be one of those all that detoxifies the scalp that and
the symptoms would be itchiness so the itching of the scalp can
be one of the symptoms of using castor oil so you might want to change around
the oils you use instead of using oils on your scalp I will say wash your scalp
really well and let your normal your sebum kind of take control and see how
it goes now if the next reason if it could be it
could be that your scalp is actually dry and it’s time to moisturize it so you’ve
washed your hair you didn’t do anything with your scalp, your scalpdoesn’t
produce that enough sebum to kind of accommodate for the dry scalp so you
might have to moisturize your scalp with the right oils that beneficial for your
scalp. So I hope that this helps you out. I hope you enjoyed this video if you do
give us a thumbs up and join on our Facebook group discovering natural group

Hi discovering Natural, I have the same problem, at first I didnโ€™t have itchy scalp after I wash my hair, Iโ€™m thinking it could be the shampoo Iโ€™m using, or it could be the extra virgin olive oil I use on my scalp, I have to figure this out, thanks for sharing tho I needed to hear thisโค๏ธ

I don't know whether it is psychological or not, but I have found that thoroughly rinsing the shampoo out of my hair seems to help.

Thanks for the video, this happened to me the last wash day, so much so I went back in the shower in the night after moisturizing my hair and everything from the 1st wash in the day. I think that I didnโ€™t rinse the products out of my hair very well. This video was quite timely.

I been having I think bad dandruff or scabbing in the front of my head only. Do you know anything I can use? It's only been like 4 days that I've noticed it. I will pill it off and it's back the next day or the day after. I'm freaking out cause this has never happened before

For me, I actually found that it was the shampoo (which was surprising since it gets rinsed away). I figured it out bc it was not itching prior to and then started itching after and for a few days. As soon as I washed w a diff shampoo the next weekend, it immediately stopped.

I find when I use JBCO my scalp and edges itch like crazy any reason why?

  • Queen Diane says:

I spotted my scalp was itchy too and it was because it was dry. I made my own scalp "oil" which is olive oil , honey, tea tree essential oil, lavender essential oil and MSM powder. It works I had so many dandruffs and now nearly nothing.

Great video. I never had itchy scalp until almost a year ago. I went to germ. He gave me medicated shampoo which dried out my hair even after I used my own. In addition to that he gave me some medicated oil but it did not worked. My scalp only itches at the top of my head. Just little bit in front. I wash my hair. It will feel fine but 10 minuets later. My scalp is itchy again. Is it possible my water. Thanks
