How the Arthritis Glove Works

How the Arthritis Glove Works

Hi, It’s Nick Lagos from Core Physio and
Pilates Studios and today we’re going to take a look at one of the stock items
that we sell that is one of our hot items in the winter period. A lot of
clients are asking us about this, it’s the arthritis glove and obviously
they’re asking because it works great. So lets take a look at what’s in the box. It
comes with two gloves and they are a fingerless glove, quite a dark gray color
and a very compressive cotton elastane glove. So to have a little look at some of
the features we’ll get Helen to start by putting one on. So you’ll notice that when
Helen’s putting it on, that is quite an effort to get your hand in, it is very
tight and it is a compressive garment and it’s that tightness that
gives you the support and the compression around the joints to help
stop swelling and also give you warmth. So it is an item that gives you warmth, you
can see to that it’s a fingerless glove. So the fingers aren’t
there, which means that you can use your fingers to still feel things so
your hand will still be able to work to feel things when you’re doing your day
to day activities. So lets take a closer look at the glove now. Okay so I’m
looking at the arthritis glove now as we said it’s fingerless, so you can see that
while it’s covering every joint so even if it is covering those
top joints in the finger you still have your fingertips to be able
to feel things. So the finger compressive sections are quite long. You
can see there’s some seams along here which means that the glove fits snugly
and fits around the joints. You can see when we try and sort of pick it up
that it’s actually quite compressive. So it’s really down on the hand which is
great. The glove goes all the way up past the wrist so you can see that it’s kind
of coming to the top of the hand and again it’s giving some support and some
compression at your wrist. So if we turn the glove over again, you can see
that there’s a seam along here where it’s articulated so that again it’s
giving you that compression all the way around your thumb joints
and that’s a place that lots of people feel a lot of pain and discomfort. You
can see that there’s a nice sort of ribbing around the ends to stop the
fraying and that seems to have lasted quite well for clients. The dark color
means again that you know that stains are a bit hidden but you can wash these
just warm soapy water or you can even throw them in the washing machine.
They’re a great item and a great glove and we hope that this gives you a bit of
information if you’re looking at trying a pair on I’d suggest going to your
local physio and or going to a Core Physio and making an appointment to
actually get an assessment first, and then get someone to actually fit them on
properly because you can get them too loose. It’s going to feel often that they
are too tight but that’s the way they need to be. But yeah it
would be worth definitely getting someone to size them correctly for
you. So that’s the arthritis glove, it’s a great item and people really love it
they get a lot of benefit from it. There is a sizing chart on the side of
the box and you can measure size they come in extra small, small,
medium and large, but I would really recommend if you are looking for
something like this is, to make an appointment with your local physio and
actually get them to have a look at your hand and wrist and make sure that it’s the right item for you. I think that’s always really important, but then also
to size it right, because getting that right compression
can mean that the glove feels great or doesn’t work as well. If you need any
more information you can go to our website and look for information there
on wrist and hand problems and arthritis gloves, but otherwise thanks very much for
your time.
