Getting Started on Otezla® (apremilast) | A closer look

Hey there! I’m Toby and I work with Otezla SupportPlus. We’re here to let you know about the Otezla® (apremilast)
prescription process, from the moment your doctor decides Otezla is right
for you, to the moment your prescription arrives at your door. Allow us to introduce ourselves… “Hi, I’m Casey! I’m a medical assistant at the doctor’s office.
I’ll get you set up at the beginning of each appointment and if your doctor
prescribes Otezla, I’ll help with insurance forms too.” “I’m Susan I work at
the specialty pharmacy, I’m here to fill your prescription as well as answer
questions you might have about Otezla. You might not be able to come and visit me,
but rest assured I’m always reachable by phone.” “And that leaves me! I’m here to
support you throughout your Otezla journey. I work with both your doctor’s
office and your specialty pharmacy, and I’m here to answer any questions
whenever you need me.” Getting your Otezla prescription starts at your doctor’s office. If your doctor decides Otezla is right for you, they’ll write
your prescription, and may provide you with a starter pack. Then they’ll work
with me, to get any necessary forms filled out, and we’ll send everything
over to your specialty pharmacy. Once we receive your prescription here at the
specialty pharmacy, we’ll work with your insurance company to verify your
coverage. We’ll give you a call if we have any questions, so make sure you pick
up. Some insurance companies require a prior authorization, an extra step, before
they approve your prescription. If yours does, we’ll work together to get your
prescription filled. Once we’ve got things squared away with
your insurance company, we’ll call you to schedule a delivery
time, and send your Otezla on its way, right to your home. If you don’t hear
from your specialty pharmacy within a week or so after getting your
prescription, give them a call, or call Otezla SupportPlus.
If anything else pops up along the way, Otezla SupportPlus will be here to help.
Otezla SupportPlus also offers 24/7 nurse support, help selecting an insurance plan,
and information on what to expect during treatment. Remember, we’re always here to
help. So give us a ring. Unlike a traditional
retail pharmacy a specialty pharmacy delivers Otezla right to your door, and
that’s not all! Specialty pharmacies also; offer support
throughout the insurance approval process, financial and billing assistance,
to keep your out-of-pocket costs as low as possible.
We can also answer any questions you may have about Otezla. Many insurance
companies have specialty pharmacies they prefer you use. If you don’t know who
your specialty pharmacy is, ask your doctor’s office or give Otezla SupportPlus a call. If your Otezla prescription isn’t
approved right away, give Otezla SupportPlus a call. We’ll see if you’re eligible
for a bridge pack; a free two weeks supply of Otezla, designed to hold you
over until you receive your prescription. Don’t forget to ask me about a $0 co-pay for Otezla. If your commercially insured, such as a health
plan through your employer, you may be able to get Otezla for $0 each
month. Otezla SupportPlus can also tell you
more about the $0 co-pay and talk to you about other savings programs,
including options for people who don’t have commercial insurance. First things
first, Don’t worry! If you receive a denial
letter from your insurance company, let your specialty pharmacy know. They’ll
work with your doctor’s office to get your prescription approved. You can also
reach out to Otezla SupportPlus.
