A Simple Everyday Routine For Dry Skin | Glamrs Skin Care

Skin during the winter can be a completely different asset, altogether! Our skin becomes scaly and dehydrated, eventually resulting in a complete loss of glow from our body. Hi I’m Shruti, and today I’m going to share some invaluable tips on how you can take care of your skin and keep it glowing this winter! I know it’s cold but resist the temptation to indulge in steaming hot showers! Hot water strips the moisture off our skin and dried it out further leading to dry itchy skin. So keep your showers short as prolonging your shower time will dehydrate your skin. Most people only scrub their face but it’s also extremely important to exfoliate your body thoroughly. Dry skin leads to a buildup of dead skin cells, especially the more exposed areas of our bodies such as the hands and legs. So just mix some brown sugar and honey and go scrubbing! Exfoliation helps get rid of the dirt that cleansing won’t, and renews skin cell growth which brings back the radiance and glow! Post showers, our skin tends to dry out and look dull the whole day! To combat that, we need to moisturise our skin. Body lotions improve the skin’s texture by adding deep moisture to the skin and contain essential oils that prevent any loss of it! Become best friends with a deep moisturising lotion such as the Nivea Oil in Lotion Cocoa Nourish! Just take a coin size amount on your palm and apply it all over your body! Wait for a few minutes for it to sink in and then wear your clothes. This lotion is a non-greasy formula so there won’t be any stickiness! The best moisturisers and lotions contain natural ingredients such as cocoa butter, coconut oil and honey milk, so check for these ingredients. ‘Butters’ help smoothen skin texture, while ‘Oils’ retain moisture, making your skin soft and supple! Do this twice a day, in the morning post your shower and at night before you hit the sack! It’s super important to drink up and keep yourself hydrated. Dehydrated bodies, immediately reflects on the outside, leading to dry and chapped skin. Dehydration also ages our skin a lot faster, which we don’t want, right? You can even warm up with a nice hot cup of green tea and fruits and veggies with high water content! Make sure you also moisturise your face regularly and apply lip balms to prevent chapped and flaky lips! Avoid using makeup that has alcohol content or are mattifying in nature as they tend to dry out our skin causing premature wrinkles. Winter tends to lower your energy levels. To combat that, try to exercise daily, it helps boost blood circulation which will definitely make you glow! So there you go, follow these tips to ensure that your skin doesn’t lose it’s glow and radiance this winter! Until next time, stay tuned & stay Glamrs!
