Bruce Jancin writing in Rheumatology News
reported on findings presented at the Hawaii Dermatology Seminar. While cardiovascular
disease has always been considered the most common co-morbidity of psoriasis and psoriatic
arthritis, it appears that the most common is actually depression. Also, encouraging
evidence suggests that successful treatment of the psoriatic disease also lowers the incidence
of depression according to Dr. Kenneth Gordon of Northwestern University. Comment: Interesting and encouraging.
